The PPSSPP forums are back!

The PPSSPP forums have long been in an absolutely dire state. Stuck on an old version with a failed upgrade pending, no backups for a long time, completely drowning in spam - although the latter mostly blocked by a super restrictive and confusing signup process, making it impossible for new people to contribute. This situation has slowly strangled the forums and there's currently almost no non-bot traffic.

But! I've finally upgraded the forums to a modern version of phpBB. Added new, custom spam filters, fixed the theme to not be terrible (it's now just not very good on mobile...), and newly signed up people can actually post again without waiting for approval!

Hopefully, the forums will slowly come back to life. Starting to see some small signs already.

Although nowadays, Discord and Reddit are really dominant in gaming communities in general, so maybe this won't work. But we'll see. On that note, the official PPSSPP reddit, long shut down, might be making a comeback in the future - if so there will be a separate announcement here.

Stay tuned for that, and for the upcoming PPSSPP 1.21 announcement in late november. It's gonna be big.
